Each year, nearly 200 student athletes compete as Huntington University Foresters! What’s a Forester you ask? Great question! A Forester is an eco-friendly lumberjack. Decked out wearing forest green, white, grey and black, the HU Foresters have made athletics at Huntington one of the top in the Mid Central Conference (MCC). As part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the Foresters compete in 14 men’s and women’s sports.
Huntington has sent multiple teams and individuals to the national stage; whether it’s a qualifier in the national post-season tourney or as members of Chi Alpha Sigma, a national honor society for student-athletes, and of course, the highest honor, NAIA All-Americans. To date, Huntington has been honored to have over 55 NAIA All-Americans and over 155 NAIA Scholar-Athletes wear the Forester colors.
This past year the Foresters toted another strong year. The men’s Cross Country team finished the year as the 8th ranked team in the country, earning yet another berth into the National Tourney. The women’s basketball team finished the year as the 13th ranked squad and earned a berth into the tourney. And for the first time in school history, the golf team made the trek to the National Tourney.
